Father's Day and More....

Today is Father's Day! Abby would like me to tell everyone how much she loves her daddy and how excited she was to spend the day with him today. We took Greg to brunch at Salty's and then made his favorite dinner, Tacos! He's a happy man :-)



Happy Father's Day also to our wonderful dad, Erv; to my dad, Ron; and of course to Abby's great-grandpa! It's all the great men in our life that help make us who we are today.

June and July are turning out to be busy months, but when I look back at the first six months of this year it seems like it's all been busy! Good, but very busy.

However, the next eight weeks alone will bring the following events/trips in our life:
1. Abby is moving from the Infant class to the Toddler class in her daycare
2. Dawn's birthday (21st!)
3. Our annual Robl Family trip to Devil's Lake
4. I'll be going to Chicago for five days
5. My mom's birthday, Ann's birthday, Ron's birthday, and Brianna's birthday!!!!
6. Greg's 20 year high school reunion
7. A birthday trip to the Oregon Coast with my mom
8. A fun adults night out with the Carlson's, LaMair's and Kupet's to Zoobilee!!!!

Our next few months are packed, but we're really looking forward to it. Abby is growing like crazy and these are the things that make memories for her. She now realizes and misses her friends; Nat, Gigi, Eddie and Ellie! She asked for them today, which was a first and made me realize how big she is getting.

This weekend Lizzie, Poppy and Nana came up to visit us. Although Abby had 104 degree temperature on Saturday night, she was good to go that morning to visit the Zoo & Aquarium with the girls (while Poppy and Greg stayed at home to build a long-awaited fence for the yard). The girl's had lots of fun and saw some big fish and a proud peacock along the way :)

Valentine's Day & first pigtails

As I sit here I think about the fact that I haven't been able to catch a minute of free time to write anything on this blog. However, I know our wonderful nieces and nephew in Oregon, as well as Nana and Poppy (or MoMo, as Abby says) and Nana Bo and Great Grandpa Bob look at it every day and I figure I should make some time to at least write a little something - even if it is at midnight while I'm watching Notting Hill!

Today is Joe's birthday - he's 14! It's also the week that Brianna got her first car and Abby decided it was time to fall off of her first push car and skin her face. I know that's a stretch to compare, but it's all I can come up with right now. :)



It's actually snowing outside right now, which is so odd because last weekend was so gorgeously sunny. I took Abby to the Aquarium for the first time and she absolutely loved it...there are a few videos on our site if you want to see her 17 month old excitement, if you'd like to check them out.

Thus far we've decided on a few trips this year; one that I won through my company to the Domican Republic; another with the Carlsons (and maybe others) to the Great Wolf Lodge; and the annual family trip to Devil's Lake. It's amazing how blessed we are with everything in our lives and that we have the ability to do all these things with our family and friends. We try to remember how lucky we are - hopefully we're doing a good job at it!

I'll be doing a bit of travel in 2009 - the first part of the year is always busy for me (I've already been to San Diego and Denver), but after I make my way to Ann Arbor, Atlanta and Chicago I should be done for the year. Greg is very busy with work, but he's also refacing every cabinet we have and building a fence outside before Spring so Abby can play outside without us having to worry about her making a run for it!

There are lots of new pictures on our site listed to the left, but I've scattered a few throughout this blog as well.

Here's to a wonderful March (in like a lion, out like a lamb - right?) and an amazing 2009!

Let it snow, let it snow, let it snow!!!

What a wonderful time of year! I'm always amazed at how our seasons are "just long enough". By the time Summer is over I'm ready to pull everything out of the ground and see the browning leaves. Once Fall is ready to say goodbye I can't wait for the cold days and the chance of snow. Boy did I get my wish this month!! Not only did we get lots of snow at our house, but we made a trip to Leavenworth and got even more snow. Abby got to see Santa for the first time, she did the Chicken Dance (Dawn will be so proud) in the middle of the street, and she played in her first snow drift. So much fun! We hope everyone has a very Merry Christmas and all of the best wishes for 2009. With so many people going through so much right now we can't help but feel grateful for our family and friends.
