Abby's Baptism

Today was a very special day for Abigail, not only did she get to see her first snowfall, but she was baptized at St. Barbara's church in Black Diamond by Father Chuck as well. She did very well with all of the hoopla. We, of course, were running 10 minutes late so we had to rush her into her dress, but she didn't seem to mind at all. She was all smiles during the ceremony and the actual baptism didn't bother her a bit. I think she simply thought she was getting a little bath, so she just smiled and enjoyed the water and oil. Afterwards everyone came over to our house to toast Abby with a little champagne and some wine. There are more pictures of the ceremony on our picture link.



Abby's play pal, Natalia Kupets, was baptized today as well. Bless our friends Sam and Kevin because they participated in both baptisms and Kevin was the photographer for all of us. George's family came in from Maryland to spend Thanksgiving with them and attend the baptism. Afterwards we got to see Valerie's new ride, the Sienna mini van. She's one of the best looking mini-van drivers out there!

Thanksgiving

November 22nd, 2007

We celebrated Abby's first Thanksgiving with the family. My mom came over with my grandpa and his brother, and Mom and Dad Robl came up from Oregon to spend Thanksgiving with us and their 3rd granddaughter. Abby did really well, but of course she wanted to eat at the same time our dinner was ready which meant she ate her dinner at the table with us. I guess she didn't want to be left out of the celebration. We also took her out for her first Black Friday shopping spree. She slept through the whole thing. :)

Late last week Abby had her third doctor's appointment with Dr. Shorr. She received her first set of shots since the hospital and I just couldn't watch, so I made Greg hold her while she got them. I'm working on the courage to be with her when she gets shots...I think it's going to take a while. A good friend told me that you just have to keep in mind that the shots are a necessity and they're helping her in the long run - she always brings common sense in to things! Abby was 13lbs and 23 1/4 inches :)

I had to post this picture because it just makes me smile. Abby is six weeks old here and her smiles are getting bigger by the day. We're taking pictures of her in her diaper every week until her first birthday so we can see how much she grows throughout the year. This was the best picture yet. You have to love the cheeks!

1st Halloween

We celebrated Abby's first Halloween on Wednesday. I took her into my office to see everyone I work with for the first time. She's growing so much and nobody from work had seen her yet. She did very well and got lots of love and attention from everyone. She's a lot more alert these days and stays awake for most of the day, which keeps us very busy.

Halloween night was a lot of fun. Friends (the Kupets/Brown family) came over to go trick or treating in our neighborhood and then we hung out and let the kids have fun together. Abby, Jasmine, and Caleb handed candy out to the neighborhood kids. Jasmine even saw a few kids she knew from school. It was a fun Halloween.
