First Trip to the Zoo

May 5th, 2008

Today was Abby's first trip to Woodland Park Zoo :-) It was also our 7th year anniversary, which we decided to celebrate together at the zoo and then with dinner at Salty's on Alki, which happens to be where Greg proposed at midnight on the millenium.

Abby didn't think too much of the animals, but we had a good time just hanging out as a family. It was a great day and we got to see the baby gorilla that was born only about five months ago! Greg really wanted to see the penguins and pandas, but they weren't in their cages for some reason, so I think we'll be making another trip to the zoo fairly soon.

The sun is finally here!

Today was a great day to be outside! Since the sun made it's way out, we decided to go to Carpintino Brothers to pick out some flowers to plant in the yard. Abby did well occupying herself while we planted in the front yard, but about 1/2 hour into it she decided it was nap time. Oh well, thank goodness there are two days in the weekend. I hope we have many more days like this in the coming months...I'm very ready for Spring/Summer to be here.

Dora The Explorer

Dora is now our new best cartoon friend. Well, Dora and Barney, but we haven't purchased the big purple dinosaur just yet. Abby decided it would be fun to have a play date with Dora this weekend; oddly enough, Dora doesn't speak much.

Oh, so many firsts!

I can't believe how much Abby is growing right now. She's already a champ at eating solid foods, which led us to stealing a high chair from the Carlson's so she can eat somewhere other than her bouncy chair.



She also sat up in the "bathtub" for the first time (okay, it's our sink, but you know you all did the same thing!). She had a great time playing with the water coming out of the faucet, but she doesn't really understand that you can't immerse your face without getting into trouble.



And let's not forget one of our fist sassy poses...such a little diva :)
